As L.A. county contained a legacy station on 1600, in Pomona, I would
expect this station's frequency was at least 1640.

In Dallas, Texas , WRR was in charge of all Dallas police & other
communications from the beginning in the 1920's tilll about 1969, we had a Western
Electric 303-C 1 kW. operating on 1714 kHz. on a slant wire on the old WRR-AM
Auxiliary tower in Fair Park. The call sign was KKB-364. It ran until the
mid 1960's. The had a bunch of old fixtuned tube radios that were used in
warrant servers cars etc. They had call numbers assigned as did all the
Dallas Radio stations. If you heard on the police radio your stations one way
call number and the phase call 531. That meant call the police dispatcher.
Origionally the 1714 kHz. was the base station and the cars talked back in
on 35 mHz. AM later everything migrated to 45.66 mHz. FM and later to a 12
channel full duplex 460 mHz. system. That was over 35 years ago I guess
Dallas now has some type of trunking system.
