[BC] rca switcher

wow!

another person who actully operated an rca switcher.

at wbkb tv in alpena mi, i cut my teeth on one.

being the first board i ever operated, i read the
eng/svce manual ever chance i got.

i think the one they had was an 8 input model.

true cross point switcher it was, it even had the
external chroma key rackmount box atop the large
switcher rack mount box.

funny thing about it was - rca did not make it!

they only stamped thier name on it :)

it was made by richmond hill in canada.

any one know of one still in existance or even up for
grabs?

As much as I enjoy learning from the old-tech, it's
awfully nice to be 
able
to sit down at a fully-loaded, state of the art
switcher to do a 
newscast.
I'd love to be able to play around with an old RCA
board sometime, but 
don't
ask me to do an election night on one, in 2006...
