Was it Hans Bott from RCA????  There were several for different  products.  
AM 1 kW. was designed under contract by Cotton Husbands from  Dallas.
 
Don Jones of RF Specialites of Texas would know.  I would Imagine  Charlie 
Goodrich would know.
