[BC] Public File proceeding

Mike,
There's nothing wrong maintaining a public file, but my point of it
all is that it can be placed on the web, for all to see if they wish.
The CDBS database could act as a place for a station's public file.

The public file is the last outpost of accountability.

I have to laugh at the comments filed on behalf of Montclair
Communications. Poor slob spent 20 hours LAST YEAR on maintaining the
public file. Someone else spends an hour a week. The grand total. 70
hours
PER YEAR. Comes out to about 19 MINUTES PER DAY.

The lack of accountability is one of the reasons broadcasting finds
itself
in the state it's in today. A hands off, lazy approach to everything
has
allowed it to fall, like a house, into a state of disrepair.

I don't care if nobody shows up to see it... IF a broadcaster maintains
an
accurate public file, it shows their fitness as a license holder.

RUNNING A RADIO STATION IS NOT EASY PEOPLE. Things in life aren't
supposed
to be or it wouldn't be worth it.
