[BC] Public File proceeding

Radio has, for the most part, become an unimportant component of society.
Yes, it can and does serve importantly during emergencies such as the
Katrina disaster. The major stations with major signals are valuable in
such circumstances.

If radio was so important generally, why are there only two major stations
in Cincinnati with news departments, WLW and WVXU? One serves the masses,
the other the intelligentsia.

It comes down to radio being an entertainment medium to produce profit for
its owners. There is nothing the least be wrong with this. The record
companies and movie companies do the same. 'Service' is not of the
slightest concern.
