Sid, Sid, Sid,
     It's not an annoyance. It's a promotional tease. In the case of 
the terrorist crawl it does a great community service by keeping us 
scared to death so we watch our neighbors of certain ethnicities so 
terror will be wiped out in our lifetime.

I realize it would be terribly cynical to suggest that a "Fox News 
Alert" might increase ratings, so I won't suggest that's why they're 
doing it. It's community service, pure and simple. I could suggest 
that it's just jealousy on your part that your stations aren't FOX 
affiliates but the list in your signature makes me unsure one of them isn't.
