I don't find SquirrelMail that clunky. I'm running it on my own server and
use it almost exclusively for personal email. I really like using IMAP
instead of POP so my saved email is not scattered amongst a bunch of
different machines. It's all right there on the server. Of course, other
clients also support IMAP. I also use Evolution for IMAP mail. But SM is
what I use most of the time.
