New York also has Lincoln Center, the Metropolitan Opera, the
Philharmonic, more museums than anyone can shake a Picasso at,
and more. So what's your point?

Anyone who's been in the business for more than about six weeks knows that
there are many factors that affect ratings and market share.
Demographics, competition from other media, how well the station is
run (or not run), and more.

Evidently, that 2 share must be more than enough to generate a decent
revenue stream for WQXR's owners, as ISTR that the station has been
classical for a good many years.
