The beacon apparatus itself should have a minimal influence on base Z. The
wires and chokes would have a greater influence. If the conduits were not
properly bonded to the tower(s) then their removal may influence base Z.

Tom- this reminds me of a related question. I've got an array that hasn't
been lighted since they added a diplexed station
in the early 90s so the wires and chokes are gone, but the beacons are
still there except on one tower (removing the beacon
put it below 200' while the rest are something like 199' with beacons.)
Would it radically change the base Z of the towers to
remove the existing beacons and possibly even the OBs? Figured it would
lessen wind resistance.
