Dana,
For all the work you did, the license should have been signed over to
you. I like the idea of a Non-D AM radiator working with a cell
monopole. For a small 250 watt or 1 KW station, it would be perfect!

The guy who owned it, Jerry had a stroke and moved back to Florida. It
went
dark while I was living in California.

The tower on Mainsail was about 125 feet and he had to drop the power
from 500
watts to 250 to make up for the more efficient antenna. He also had 130
watts
at night.

Mark Fisher did all the RF stuff and I built his studios.

Jerry owed me a pile of $$ for work I did there - I never saw a penny.
Wound
up writing it all off...

I understand that Jerry tried to sell the place and he had whited out
thr 250
(watts) on the license and typed 1000 there, and was advertising it as a
1 kW
station.

Dana,
You should have went and talked to his head! He could have done a
slant wire into that cell tower and keep that station on! Was it his
idea to turn it off? I don't know the whole story here, but this is
sounds ridiculous.
Dana, if he didn't want that station, you and I should have bought it.

I understand that about six people applied for this frequency...it's
gonna be
a while.

John Fuller took down the AM tower and put up a cell tower in its place.
He's making mucho $$ there.

I'm not sure about thatm but last I knew.. a tower that WAS going to be
put
up (before they went dark9 is still laying on the ground at their old
Mainsail Drive transmitter site. The property is owned by WBMW's John
Fuller.

I'm not sure what the call letters of the new 1370 will be. WKFD or WPBW
perhaps? LOL
