LAX has a license for 100 Watts into the antenna. The field
intensity limits have been waived. Normally TIS/HAR stations are
allowed to run a maximum of 10 Watts but they may not exceed 2 mV/m
at 1.5 KM in any direction. Quite often they wind up running about 2
to 3 Watts in order to not exceed the field limits.

LAX is running 100 Watts into a Valcom 147 with the "Valco-Sphere"
top loading and close to a real ground system underneath.
