[BC] WCBS dumps IBOC, returns to "High Definition" AM

I have stated in the past that the FCC wanted daytimers and marginal
full timers to go away and put certain constraints in place to make it
happen over time. Please don't confuse my stating that policy with me
personally wanting a station to go away.
My point is that you bought a station with certain restrictions. Either
you should have made a different investment or you should accept the
restrictions and not go looking for a government handout. Nobody is
going to "help" daytimers or all AMs nor are they going to "help" TV or FM.
I can think of a lot of ways a daytimer could make money in the daytime.
It is just some people have a restricted of view of what programming
should be.
You might get together a group of daytime operators and take the FCC to
court when they allow nighttime IBOC. In fairness you could claim the
right to use the same power levels permitted for digital in adjacent
channels
If you want new spectrum, get together a group of daytime operators and
bid on channel 6, relocate at your expense the remaining stations and
then get the CEA members to build cheap receivers for your audience.
Maybe you should just collectively go buy out the full time station that
keeps you off and downgrade it.
Be proactive rather than wait for the government to be reactive.
