built: >>Example: Defiance College (Oh), Valley High School (WV).
According to what I could find, Defiance College never was granted the
CP. Instead, it was the First Baptist Church that had their permit
cancelled for not being built. Many schools did apply, and some are
still tied up in messy MX's or were dismissed when the 3rd adjacent
protections were kept in place.
The surrendering of LPFM licenses seems to be something relatively new.
I know as of last week, WNRB-LP in Wausau has turned in their LPFM
license, as the school no longer wants to support the station. I know of
two stations (and there may be more) which currently have interference
issues. One is WFBF-LP in Taylors, SC, which is down I26 from WSHG-LP,
but quite a bit away. It also has two translators. Currently, it is off
the air, due to interference issues. The other station, WNYL-LP,
received an STA to go off the air, to resolve a co-channel problem,
caused by the upgrade and move of full power station, which is now a
K-LOVE outlet. The LPFM is also religious.
