[BC] Top 40 is not always from "Billboard"

There was a whole genre of "beach music" that never rated much in Billboard
but was extremely popular in coastal areas especially in the southeast.
Doo-Wop is another genre that was very popular in certain areas but largely
ignored by Billboard. However, most Top-40 stations did play more than
just the top-40- after-all- a song would never get to be in the Top-40 if it
didn't get some air-play. I have many old 1/4" tapes of songs I taped off
the air in the '60s that never made it into the top-40. I guess I have
eccentric tastes in music. ;-)
