Is this for remotes, or in the studio? For remotes, there are a lot of
things out there in addition to this. This is ok for pots. The hybrid is
pretty basic, and like a lot of hybrids, even the digital ones, you will
get leakage on air if you talkback to the broadcasters at the same time
they are on the air. I believe this is an analog hybrid, so likely more
noticeable. The other thing about this unit is the pots are a bit small.
While 3 inputs may get you by, four is the minimum spec I put on any
sports remote mixer for radio. For example, PBP, Color, Crowd mic, and
if you want have a sideline reporter or if they give you a ref mic feed,
you have no place to put it in, without some form of modification or add
on.
If you want some better quality and total two way operation that is
independent, you could look at Comrex or Tieline products. The price
goes up quite a bit and you have to multiply by two.
I would not look at this unit for the studio, if all you need is a
hybrid. You can get a really decent digital hybrid from lots of places,
including the Telos one.

Our station is considering the purchase of a mixer/telephone interface
combination. We're currently looking at a J K Audio Remote Mix Sport
for
$789. Comments, suggestions?
