[BC] Clear Channel planning to sell off

CC here in Tennessee has several "small town" AM's they want rid of.
They are underperforming, some of them 500 watt to 1 KW "Daytime Only"
stations. When they purchased these station, they there was a FM
involved, and they had to take the AM when they purchased the FM they
wanted.

About two years ago, they owned 1 FM and two AM's in Crossville, TN.
They got rid of all of them quickly due to that area is an
underperforming, unrated, market.

I said this 8 years ago, they bit off more than they can chew, and would
start selling station, especially small AM daytimers.

Some Clear Channel engineers that I know have told me that the
less-profitable stations in their markets are for sale, and some of
those stations are close to signing contracts.
