1967... Flagstaff.
The station owner wanted to emulate Joe Pyne.
He sat in the Prod room. He ran the audio into the 351, then into the
control room into a cartritape. He didn't want to modify anything, so
it was about 2/3 of a second of delay.
He announced 7 seconds on the air. The kids at the college
knew...and threatened me a time or two. However, I never had a hassle.
I went on spring break, and discovered that the "fill-in" operator
got three minutes out of an hour on the air. The owner decided to go
'barefoot' ... and I just sat an cringed until the program 'died' for
lack of callers.
Either that, or I fell asleep.
barry ... in San Antonio ... (Thanks Dan! Thanks John!) on the way to NAB.
