It might have been made by Robbins. Wasn't Freon. It was a fairly stinky
solution, a bit oily, but it made rubber grip well. Put it on turntable
rubber and the turntable would almost bark on the start.

Speaking of "cleaning" agents, does anyone remember the name of a "rubber
drive cleaner" that was popular in the 70's. It supposedly didn't dry out
the rubber parts like alcohol would. It was applied liberally to turntable
rubber, plus tape pinch rollers.
