There
might be a flaw in the power supplies that is either messing-up the supply
voltage, or it is allowing a spike to reach a sensitive chip inside the unit.

Willie:

When an MR314 goes down, I replace the whole shootin' match. Wall wart, cat5
interconnect cable, then download, install latest firmware. Once I am back up
and running with new MR314, then I check each individual accessory, reload
firmware, do a hardware reset and reload firmware again on the old one. If that
does not wake up the wireless functionality, then the defective unit is
cheerfully presented to the garbage man. Am I missing something? Is there anything
else I should have done before throwing the unit away? Anything else I could try
to revive wireless capability that you've done that I'm missing?

I've gone through my third or fourth MR314 wireless failure now and am
convinced it is power failure related and not lightning induced failure. I'm running
on my backup MR314 currently and It is not performing all that great (not as
much wireless range as I'm used to) so I think this is a good window of
opportunity to change manufacturers of cable/dsl router/ WAP units.
