[BC] Collins 300-G & resurrected vintage boxes

Oh I'm already am.  Problem here is I live in a neighborhood where towers and get this antennas are a absolute no-no! They really don't like the little satellite dishes for TV, but there was such a push by homeowners that they had to allow them, and not make it look like they had something going with Comcast Cable.  We are in a Commnunty Neighborhood Subdivision called Cambridge Farms, that you pay dues to keep up the grounds, park, tennis courts, club house,  golf course, etc.  If I DARED to even put a tower in the back yard that didn't extend over the top of the roof, they would make me take it down. It's so tight here, I'm still trying to get the neighborhood board to approve my wooden fence for the back yard!
 
I coming up with an antenna scheme to hide in the atttic. I live in a two story home, so there is some height.
My wife said I could have a McMartin BA-1K as long as I keep it out in the garage!  She like the fact it was low profile and the McMartin doesn't take up as much space as a Collins or Gates would. Got to my the honey happy too so I get my dinner every night!
 
It's sad that some hams act like CB'ers and won't behave themselves, but look what the world is full of Willie!

It would never happen. While the idea sounds really neat on the surface, the
first problem is that ASCAP, BMI, RIAA, et al would be all over it like flies
on syrup. Not only that, you have some hams that are, shall we say, "less than
desirable" who would take great glee in jamming those stations. I've heard it
all, trust me. Some of those "bad guys" are even worse than the CB'ers they
like to deride. (Pot calling kettle black?) Then, how do you determine who gets
what time slot? How do you enforce it? Major can-o-worms.

As do I.

There are many hams out there who are fine gentlemen and who do, indeed, take
great pride in restoring those old transmitters and using them on 160M and
75M AM. (Some even move them up to 40 meters.) Some of these guys are even
running Orbans and Omnias! It must be nice to have that kind of money to spend on
one's hobby. :)

Anyway, Scott, you really should look into getting your License! You don't
*have* to buy expensive gear to get on the air, and we could use some more "good
guys" on those airwaves. We can't let the "bad guys" win... we have to
outnumber 'em. Taking some old B'cast transmitter and restoring it is one good way
to make it so.
