Now toss into the ring 120Hz refresh rate which  most of the higher 
end sets are today. Sony and Samsung in a joint venture have their 
big gun LCD sets in 120 hz refresh.  And it's not only the displays 
either.  It's the electronics behind them which make the 
difference.  The display panels are the same for both 60 and 120 Hz 
displays. The 120 Hz refresh will apply to a future standard which is 
in discussion on super HD type recordings and games.

The cable networks and satellite providers are bit rate compressing 
the hell out of the feeds.  They look horrible compared to native 
uncompressed.  Even to  720I EDTV signals.  This means even less for 
NTSC compatible...which are already compressed severely as it is....

So forget going to Best buy or Circuit City to see anything.  Bring 
your own disc...
