I always weld any loose parts like that, aluminum or steel because anything else is just a temporary patch. A "lawn chair" Scala I put on the Tucson Mt site 20 years ago was still running clean when others had to be replaced. There were, at the time 5 Class A FM's and a couple of UHF TV's and it's even worse now.
No use taking the short cut. Sheet metal screws are better than nothing, but if the metals are dissimilar, you soon have a diode junction.
