I was and am aware of that, unfortunately it had been awhile since my
last save and I was on a really good roll. Got up to go to the bathroom
and when I came back and sat down it was all gone! Now had this been a
crash I would have been able to recover without a problem using the temp
file that M$ keeps on any word doc. But since Update took the time to
"Close" word the temp file was deleted, and unrecoverable, I tried.

Yes, I knew better, yes I knew the proper steps to prevent or minimize
damage. Contributing factors included that it was a new laptop and I
had just loaded all the software into it and not set up all the options
the way I normally do. I did get the article rewritten, but I don't
think it came out as good as what I lost.

When writing an article occasionally I get into a zone where the words
are flowing and nothing else matters. I'm sure others who have written
can attest to the "zoning out" that happens.
So from the same darn laptop with all the correct options now enabled
I'm off to the next radio station I need to see today. Signing off from
a hotel in St. Pete...
