I dont Get it... The EAS is supposed to be the last item in the audio feed before the transmitter.at least thats the way Ive always set it up.
Yes I know your talking about RWT's I have the eas to randomly send them. I dont care if a DJ is talking or a Commercial is Playing. If its Time the EAS Overrides Everything.. Thats what its suppossed to do.. You Never know when there is an Emergency I have even seen where the PD or Engineer would REcord a weekly with Tones as a File and schedule it into the automation.
some with EAS systems but not connected( looked like they were connected, But were Not)some with No real EAS system installed. so If there was a Real Emergency Nothing would happen. yet you would hear the RWT's each week.
Because Engineers have Done what you are talking about. is one reason the EAS system did not work on 9-11-2001.
I have found that If the GM or PD of stations could control EAS there would Never be an EAS RWT or RMT transmitted.
I solved that Problem by placing the EAS gear at the transmitter site and not in the studios/office. they really hate when there are Amber Alerts. I gave them Choices Amber Alerts, and or Severe Weather Alerts.
I still Send both along with RWT and RMT.
