The elegance is the filter and delay design is already tight and the card
is readily available in an otherwise dead machine. I can also change the
frequency sensing as I desire (say 8300Hz and 140 hz.) which together will
never be falsed. I want nothing to do with network cueing tones for the
reason you cite.
Stick the card(s) in a 1RU box with a PS and bunch of relay closures and
I'm done.
Yes, the consolidated cut will have the intro, a burst of the tones, and
then a silent section while the RWT plays out totalling 15 seconds.
