That was part of our design intention. They fit perfectly on a slide out rack tray (that's how 2 of my 4 were set up here). A bunch of them did go to odd locations for rack mount operations. They were a more popular alternative than something like a Dixon rack mixer which was too vertical for some people. The idea of a slide fader board in the standard operation was preferred by a bunch of people. I can't recall which ones now but I know that several of the companies that bought them did intend them for remote trucks and also several were supposed to be used for transmitter site emergency studio packages. For a seemingly 'toy' board they have great RF rejection. That probably comes from building them alongside 50kW AM transmitters ;)
