Did you have difficulty in understanding the concept
of doubling (audio) power by 'going mono'? The
concept is as simple as first grade arithmetic. If you
look at a stereo modulation monitor you will see
choices for Left, Right, L+R and L-R. When L=R
L-R=0. L+R is therefore double the quantity (L+R)
since the channels combine and they are in phase.
That is how you double the audio power. There
really is nothing funny <g> about it. Personally, I
get upset at any humor in a technical or scientific
forum. It clouds one's judgement.
