  8 bays is not that extreme. The slightly more narrow beam would 
probably help a little with the market 15 miles away. An 8 bay 
antenna would be 50-60 feet long (depending on frequency, and staying 
with .75 spacing), and you're only moving the center of  radiation 
83'.  That would leave you with, at best, 40' between the new and old 
antennas.  There will be some coupling, so you'll have to get the old 
one down before you can know how the new one is performing.

If you're buying a new antenna (regardless of size), be sure to 
include a range study.  You can overlay the plots on maps and show 
management what they're getting for their money.
