[BC] TV's told not to switch

Below, is an excerpt from an e-mail, from a friend in the TV business. It
explains why his station, applied for but, will not drop analog on the 17th,
as planned, in spite of very high analog transmitter power bills:
" For example, we have to make announcements in Spanish. In northeast South
Dakota.
.. The FCC doesnt care there might not even be ANY Spanish only
people in that area
.
Since when in the United States do you have to do this stuff in two
languages? I guess that started a few years ago, and it is just getting
worse.
Note the walk in centers, the in home assistance. Remember, these are
new rules at the last minute
days before the shut down. After 10 years of
rules - at the last minute they come up with this
. "
I think he's frustrated. I would be.
