I have been very, very hesitant to assign different closures to the same
output. I realize that it should only fire the closures for the program
that is on the air, but I worry about closures coming in for different
programs firing liners or starting breaks during a show that's on the air.

I ended up having to do that with Delilah, because they assign different
closure names for the Sunday program than the rest of the Mon-Fri feed.
Since Delilah requires 9 closures to run, it didn't make a lot of sense to
wire up another 9.

I would say the easiest thing to do is just make your DB-37 connector with a
multi-pair cable and bring them all out to a punchblock. That way you can
add or subtract any closures to your automation without having to solder up
more connections to the DB-37. Here you could also common the grounds going
into the automation system.

We all know how quickly programming seems to change...
