I bought a cheap pair of 8" vise-grips and drilled a hole in the frame to
screw it down to the bench

works for holding all kinds of connectors......IF you don't get carried away
with clamping pressure

also, on the DB-37's, use a small pair of cutters to cut off pins 24and 33,
then use a length of resistor or capacitor lead bent at the ends to fit into
20 and 37 and laid across all the intermediate pins, then soldered, and the
'common' side is done and ready for the black wire

I use Belden 8457 ('cause it's there') and that gives me 11 closures.....in
fact I usually pull out the 'tan' wire because it gives me fits
distinguishing it from the green under florescent light for a total of 10
