Yeah, I've been in the business over 48 years now and I remember when "talk
radio" meant Don McNeil's Breakfast Club and the Arthur Godfrey Show.
Stations just didn't want to get involved in "controversial" programming so
there wasn't any. OK, so there were some exceptions like Joe Pyne. And
that guy in Denver (I've forgotten the name) who was assassinated. That
sort of thing also puts a damper on free speech. But for the most part,,
programming was, as another here has stated, pure pabulum.
