I will say they are both dishonest and bad.  My ex wife is a cop so I 
have some experience with cops in three different states.  They are a 
group dominated by liars and thieves where those who really want to make 
a difference are ridiculed for being naive.  I have personal knowledge 
of everything from repeatedly cheating on their spouses (my wife never 
did this as for as I know) to lying under oath just to convict some poor 
bastard for little more than looking differently.  I have absolutely no 
respect for them as a group and anyone who would disagree indicates to 
me they have not spent years in those social and professional circles.
