He drums loudly on the countertop in the studio, and often makes very
intentional noises with the papers he has printed out for his "showprep"
that never ends ;-)
Some days he spends too much time fiddling with his cigar to do much of the
other stuff.
Some of my favorite bits this past year have been Paul Shanklin parodies, of
course, and James Golden (aka Mr. Snerdley) filling the role of official
Obama Criticizer. Certified "black enough" to criticize then-candidate Obama
when others could not get away with it. I especially enjoyed the
translations for "my brothers and sisters in the 'hood". That whole bit just
cracked me up.
I almost hate to admit it here that I do find Rush's program to be
entertaining many times when I get to listen. When I don't--when he's just
being a blowhard or really isn't funny--I just punch the button. He's not
the only thing on the radio from 11-4 (between the two times he's heard in
this region).
