My dad's small business is furniture repair and restoration and he's done a
lot of work for the Federal Government in the Madison, Wisconsin area.
Mostly doing finish and ding repairs on expensive desks, conference tables,
cabinets, etc.

He never gets paid in fewer than 60 days and he just plans accordingly.

Oh yes, he also works on a bid basis with them and he makes sure there is
plenty of "Murphy Factor" time in the bid because he knows if something goes
wrong and the job's not a slam dunk that he'll never get a penny more than
what's in the bid.
