That RFpartsonline site is all messed up and doesn't work when you try to checkout. We decided just to order from the manufacturer.

I have only been maintaining this Harris TX for about 8 months so this is my first time dealing with their parts department. I have dealt a lot with their tech support and they are usually really helpful. I am starting to recognize names and know when I'll get good service or GREAT service some of those guys will stick with you for hours. Finding that this relay was the bad one took both of us 3 hours on the phone testing different points and tracing circuits back. They seem to be better at night with helping out. Probably because they are getting overtime or something.

I guess I'll just have a few extra to through in the closet for the next time one fails in like 10 years.

I was going to try and find a replacement relay but I can't locate a datasheet for the current one to compare. I don't even know the lead spacing or layout yet.

..."Harris will sell them to me at 5 times the cost."

They seem to be really good at that. Heaven forbid you needed it ASAP.
Tack on another 400 bucks to have it overnighted, etc.

Good luck on your relay! Hope you can find a similar replacement at a price
of what it is worth, not what H wants.

On a side-note, one time I got H to send a relay out for a Gates One 1kw AM
transmitter that wasn't working properly. Not only was it expensive, but
the coil voltage was totally wrong. The parts guy indicated that the part
they sent was the right one according to the computer, etc. After
determining I was going nowhere fast with the wonderful H parts guy I ended
up going to Evans Electric here in OKC and getting the proper Furnas relay
for about a tenth the price (and no shipping) and making H eat the wrong
one. After much complaining the finally agreed to take it back since they
apparently had sent out the wrong part.
