Except where a fat main lobe with a minimum of 20 kW ERP in the peak of that
fat lobe results in very high blanket interference to FM receivers near the
tx site.
Probably it is best to evaluate each installation with respect to its
individual requirements and the radiation pattern realities of the
proposed/installed antenna system, rather than relying on some "rule of
thumb."
