I use Gmail. If you create a new message to a mailing list, your original
message does NOT come back to you (Gmail's explanation is that this "reduces
clutter"). However, if anyone responds to your message, then it shows up in
your Inbox.

You CAN see the message you sent in the Sent Mail folder, or, according to
Gmail, by clicking on "All Mail",  which shows "Archived" e-mail.

There's no solution that Gmail provides.
