So, let me ask those of you in sales: is this Anheiser-Busch deal
new, or is it business as usual?
And ... how do you/(can you) deal with it?>>>>
Although not a sales person, I can sympathize with what they face down on
the street every day. Advertisers are disappearing, especially many of the
small ones. There's been enough discussion elsewhere about the industry's
downturn. How many car dealers are spending what they did this time last year...
or even 6 months ago? Stations can not afford to turn down an advertiser
with the potential buy of a Budweiser.
If someone with the clout of a Budweiser can do it, 120 day could evolve
into the business standard.
And let's not forget that Bud does business with other vendors besides
radio. According to the trades, farmers had been on a 120 day payment schedule
long before radio received notice.
