Same thing here.  The ONLY time I reboot these days is after an update 
which requires it.  Everything runs incredibly FAST all the time.  When 
I ran Windows "Anything" I'd reboot every couple of days because of a 
BSOD or the cache buffers would get clogged up and what was normally OK 
would slow to a tired snail's pace.  Google Linux and be amazed at the 
different variations and what they're designed (optimized) for!  A 
Knoppix CD saved my bacon last year when a vicious trojan attacked my 
Windows XP Pro system.  I yanked the power cord in time and used that CD 
to boot up because the virus destroyed the boot sector on my Windows 
NTFS partitioned HD.  Knoppix allowed me to read and copy ALL my data to 
an external HD which I use to back up regularly.  I wiped out the 
unwanted and unnecessary stuff and started over with Ubuntu.  There's a 
bit of a learning curve but it's very gratifying to see a warning that 
tells you some ethercrap is trying to attack you.  You simply tell it to 
delete it and go forward with confidence.  The vastness of the Open 
Source community is unbelievable.  Almost anything you can think of is 
available.  I must admit that I'd like to see a lot more broadcast 
related software than is currently available.  It's coming and I'm 
trying to be patient!
