[BC] Aligning a satellite dish

Thanks, Burt -- all very good advice, as usual.

I used the dishpointer.com site a few weeks ago to identify landmarks
on the satellite photo (a cell tower on a nearby hilltop was observed
to be within one degree of the correct azimuth), making it very easy
to get a rough alignment.

Also (if you're lucky) the sun can be your friend as well as the
enemy. Last autumn, we just happened to finish mounting a 12 ft
Comtech a couple of hours before a predicted October afternoon sun
outage on AMC-8. The skies were clear that day, so I waited for the
outage and quickly aligned azimuth and elevation to center the
feedhorn shadow in the middle of the reflector. This was enough to
get the receiver to lock up (after the sun got out of the way), then
it was simply a matter of using the spectrum analyzer to touch
everything up.
