Laugh-In ran from 1968 to 1973 during a time the union had a very strong hold on the Burbank facility. They would not allow the network to upgrade in a timely manner. When I took the tour in 1970 there was no video router in the facility. All routes were hard patched by a union operator. Also, the Ampex Editec was a costly option. All the stations in Salt Lake City had Ampex 1200 VTR's, but strangely enough the PBS station was the only one with an Editec. (your taxes at work!)
