[BC] Bird Ruling / Antennas in Trees

Around this neck of the woods, the NIMBYS and BANANAS have pretty much prevented any new tower construction.  I have several clients with antennas in trees; LPFMs, translators and a Class A 12-bay!  The question always comes up:  "How much would the signal be improved if we were on an (equally tall) "real" tower?"  Any thoughts or real-life experiences?
