The 850 Power Rock has in interesting history. It was provided -free- to CBS'
WEEI 590 in Boston after their MW-5 burned up. Pics of the fire are online
somewhere. This happened during the All Star Game no less-and they would
putting the game on their FM. CBS Corporate Engineering made the decision: "No
more PDMs at out stations" and WEEI wound up buying a pair of 10 kW
Continental Dohertys. Continental offered WHDH a deal on the lightly used
transmitter and sent someone to Boston to change its frequency and re-proof
it. Alas, the last time I was in the building it was gone.

The irony was the one time they could have used the Power Rock (after the
building fire), their former CE had used duct tape to hold the back panel
closed (instead of screws) and it wouldn't run because its interlocks weren't
being closed.

They brought me in to replace him after the fire.
