Atmospheric lighting won't have much effect. The error correction scheme
used is designed to account for random instantaneous loss of packets.
Unless you are in an incredible lighting event with 60 or more strikes a
minute, it's unlikely you'll even notice it beyond maybe a mild burp.
Of course, if the tower is hit and the TX folds back, then that's a
different story. You may have a momentary switch back to analog since the
lightning strike will have hit the tower 7 seconds before the analog audio
is sent.
