Jeff,
Didn't know Micron in Boise was needing engineers!!
I worked for a while at a group owned multiple station facility in Boise. Liked the town, work was OK, until a new manager decreed that engineers worked in coat and tie 9-5, PLUS any other work like 2-6AM atop the mountain at the FM site, for the same low salary!
Kinda wish there were decent jobs for old radio engineers around...I have found zilch myself anywhere...seemingly always requires demonstrated proficiency in specialized technologies that you do not get working the mom-and-pop stations on contract, it seems. Oh, and that you be under 40.
I have enjoyed the technical end of radio greatly. Repairing things, making things sound better, and doing especially RF work in AM. But didn't ever get rich.
Did many things between radio jobs, but buyouts, peace breakouts, etc. terminated the jobs and I drifted back into radio again. Kinda in the blood. Plus the fact that the industry hiring folks all seem to want fresh young engineers with all their mistakes still in them waiting to be made!!
