[BC] AM Interference

What might happen is some type of compromise on AM IBOC. WGN in Chicago
proposed allowing IBOC till 8:00 or 9:00 PM local and again early in the
morning. Basically a PSSA and PSRA IBOC authorization. That might work.
WGN seems to be the only big AM player to object to nite IBOC.

We're assured BPL will be benign. No interference. I think it would
be hypocritical to attack BPL when we appear willing to trash our own
band with our own stations and IBUZ. As stations light up with it
more and more adjacents will need 500Kw just to be local.
It's interesting how we're basking in DX nostalgia just as DX is
about to go away. At some point the FCC will have to authorize
nighttime operation. If they don't, stations might as well become
daytimers as far as ratings are concerned. Nighttime AM might not
have huge ratings draw but every daypart contributes to overall
numbers. To remove 12 hours a day would have quite an impact.
