I recommend you look into APC's Symmetra Power Array; rock solid stable 
with our vintage 1975 Onan generator. Moreover the Power Array's 
"intelligence" and redundancy modules minimizes typical UPS glitches and 
failures. Yes they are pricey but remains one of the best investments 
I've ever made in our power conditioning chain.
