[BC] Oldies Stations

FWIW, I've been involved with many oldies stations almost continuously
over the last 20 years (by happenstance, not election!) and without
exception the ones that deviated from the 'safe 500' always suffered in
the ratings. Even in small markets, where the staffs were so incredibly
sick of the same songs over and over they couldn't resist adding
variety.

And for added frustration, I think it's also one of the hardest formats
to process successfully on FM.

Man, am I burnt on oldies...

Rich, What I call variety you call a train crash. Our mileages obviously
vary.
