[BC] Telos one + one problem

Hi all-
I've had a Telos One + One hybrid sitting on my shelf for about
two years - it was purchased as part of our studio upgrade, but never
installed. Anyhow, we decided to use it for our closed captioning
system, so I put it in last week. It's connected to a direct phone line
(that is, it doesn't go through the building phone system), and has
audio coming from the audio board (I'm not currently using the return
audio). The unit has the basic auto-answer boards installed.
Since I put it in, I've had a couple of odd problems with it.
Sometimes it won't hang up. On other occasions, it will look like it
connects to the phone line, but there won't be any indication of audio
from the audio board on the LEDs on the front of the unit, and the
caller won't hear anything. Hanging up and calling back will NOT
resolve the issue.
I've talked to the Telos guy a few times, and he told me that the
hang-up issue can be caused by the voltage on the phone line not
dropping all the way, thus causing it to hang on. He sounds baffled
about the audio issue, and says that he's never heard of that problem
before. Since I found some references to the same problem in the
crtech.org archives, and both units in the one + one do the same thing,
I expect that it's a pretty common problem, though.
Does anyone have any long term fixes for this?
Thanks!
Mark
